Race mechanics

The box on the left shows the meta-data for the selected horse. In this example, Crescendo is owned by the Purepony stable and has been selected.
There are three different race lengths - 5 furlongs, 6 furlongs and 10 furlongs - also called the one and a quarter mile race.  Each horse will have a natural ability to race in one or two of these types but never all three. You'll see this data when you buy a horse and you can see which race type the horse can NOT race in.

Crescendo can race in the 5 furlong and 6 furlong race but not the 10 furlong race.

The P1 -> P10 describe the phases. Each race has a number of phases which basically means dice rolls. A 5 furlong race is usually over after 5 dice rolls. A 6 furlong race takes about 6 dice rolls to run the distance. The numbers you see for Crescendo show how fast he is in each of the phases. 5f =  (8, 6, 6, 8, 6). Higher numbers for each phase is better. Crescendo starts each race strong (8), slows down a bit in the middle of the race (6, 6), has a small boost (8) before slowing at the finish line (6).

When choosing a horse to buy, these stats show how strong the horse is and will help you gauge the chances of that horse winning you some prize money.
